Buro 24/7 Singapore Weekly Playlist #81: ZoukOut 2016
Dusk to dawn
I'm extremely pumped up for ZoukOut 2016 so I've prepared some of the latest bangers from the festival's DJ line up. All My Friends is a song by British production duo Snakehips, featuring American recording artists Tinashe and Chance The Rapper. I love it because of the sincere emotions the track brings up and when I play it in the club, I see sparks fly even though it's a sad song.
Beautiful Life by Lost Frequencies speaks of the possibilities of travelling back in time to relive a day. In my personal opinion, I feel the rise of the style of "laidback hype" is taking over the traditional loud drop bangers. This song displays perfectly how it is done. In The Name Of Love features superb vocals by Bebe Rexha and paired with Martin Garrix's new future bass sound, it's a sure fire sign this track is going to be overplayed in clubs.
Holland's Wiwek is an in-demand DJ and his track with Skrillex, Killa, is a new hybrid form of EDM that is really sweeping the club world by storm. It feels more energetic and quicker than its straight beat counter parts and almost feel as if the sounds are bringing out your more primal and wild side to party harder. It's 75 beats per minute though (way slower than your typical 128bpm EDM song) but it makes you want to dance double time. A serious party banger!
Coming Over is by two of my current favourite artists, Dillon Francis and Kygo. I'm totally feeling the vibe it gives, laidback yet danceable. As the lyrics go, when this track plays in the club, "all I think about is coming over, coming over" to the dancefloor.
ZoukOut 2016 returns to Siloso Beach on 9 and 10 December. For more information, click here.
