Catching up with Frank Ocean
1. He's on A$AP Rocky's latest track, 'Raf'
You can totally hear Frank Ocean rap over the instrumental on A$AP Rocky's recent release, alongside other names such as Playboi Carti, Quavo and Lil Uzi Vert.
2. Brad Pitt's a new fan
In his "coming out" interview — out of his divorce from Angelina Jolie, at least — with GQ, the film star gushed about Ocean's recent album, Blonde. "I find this young man so special," Pitt reportedly said. Talk about getting to the raw truth. He's painfully honest. He's very, very special. I can't find a bad one."
3. He'll be part of Calvin Harris' new album
After the success of his collaboration with Calvin Harris and Migos, Ocean's joining the likes of Nicki, Travis Scott, Katy Perry, John Legend, Khalid, Snoop Dogg, Schoolboy Q, Big Sean, Lil Yachty and PARTYNEXTDOOR on the Scotsman's new album, Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, which will be released on 30 June.
4. He dropped his one solo, too
Collaborations aside, Ocean released a new solo track weeks after he premiered 'Biking', featuring Jay Z and Tyler. On 15 May, he surprised the world by releasing it on his Beats 1 Blonded Radio show.
5. If you want to know who inspires Frank Ocean, listen to this
Besides dropping his new solo on his radio show, Ocean also took time to rave about André 3000 and The Beatles. Calling the earlier number one and crediting the latter for getting him out of writer's block during his work on albums Endless and Blonde, Ocean elaborated, "I want to thank The Beatles for almost single-handedly getting me out of writer's block."
