Since her album release on 6 November, Ellie Goulding's been everywhere. Delirium, the Max Martin-produced record is the singer's move from indie-dance and synth-pop to a noticeably pop record — and it's no surprise. Martin's a Swedish hit-hunter, engineering No.1s from Taylor Swift, The Weeknd and Britney Spears. While Goulding proudly states that "a new era has begun", this fan of her Lights and Halycon days isn't entirely convinced. It'll take a while for the new record's lead single On My Mind — while catchy — to really sink in.
But nobody cares about a disgruntled fan's preference. The real sufferers of Goulding's rise to pop royalty are her two cats, Lennon and Wallace. The 28-year-old's been leaving them behind while she performs her hits — at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards last weekend, and recently at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show. While she's not out charming the world with her signature raspy lilts, she spends her downtime with her feline squad. Here are our favourite moments.
1. When she introduced Lennon and Wallace to the world.
2. When she #wokeuplikethis, with her cats.
3. When she couldn't deal with how cute they were.
4. When little Wallace was invited to be part of her glam squad.
5. When she Facetimed with Wallace.
