St Jerome's Laneway Festival has a knack for showcasing acts just before they hit the big time. While this year's lineup features several familiar names who have already played in Singapore before - think: Grimes, Beach House and Chvrches - there's still plenty of interesting acts waiting to be discovered.

First up on the playlist is the track K.Y.F by local downbeat hero, Intriguant, who will be performing this song with a full piece band at the festival. I've also included Shamir and The Internet, who both challenge gender stereotypes in life, through their music and in their nuanced but hard to place vocals. The 1975 reminds me of the good side of the '80s and here, their song Settle Down gets a reworking by the mysterious Young Ruffian. See you on the grass!
