1. Little White Lies (2010)
In Guillaume Canet's third feature film, Little White Lies sees him cast Marion Cotillard as Marie, a bisexual, promiscuous and free-spirited anthropologist in a story about a group of friends who go on vacation in spite of their friend landing in hospital. The ensemble cast also stars familiar French face Jean Dujardin (The Artist).
2. Blood Ties (2013)
Set in '70s Brooklyn, Cotillard stars in Canet's English language thriller with A-listers such as Clive Owen, Mila Kunis, Billy Crudup, James Caan, Zoe Saldana and Matthias Schoenaerts. Owen plays Chris, a gangster fresh out of prison while Cotillard, once again in her role as Canet's muse takes centre stage in what's been described as a paper-thin story. As Monica, one of Chris' exes, she steals the screen with her act as the former flame with a vengeance.
3. Rock'n Roll (2017)
In something that's strikingly similar to Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt's effort By The Sea (although it's mostly Jolie's passion project), Rock'n Roll sees Canet and Cotillard playing themselves in a tongue-in-cheek tale of two actors in a rut. The couple are currently making their press rounds promoting the film, and while the duo are light-hearted enough to laugh at themselves, let's hope they don't share the Hollywood couple's fate.
