Get to know Nastia, the most talked-about female DJ from Ukraine
Live the sweet life on deck with DJ Nastia at Super 0's inaugural collaboration with The Council

Livening up Gillman Barracks alongside The Council's powerhouses, Cats on Crack and Juilen Brochard, is Ukranian DJ Nastia, as Super 0 teams up with the best of the underground nightlife scene. Nastia has been spinning for the past 11 years, starting when she was only 19 — but this marks her first appearance on our little red dot.

Her DJ alias Nastia, is a condensed form of her birth name, Anastasia Topolskaia. Adopting that shortened stage name seemed like a prelude to what was to come with her many achievements — which all happened within a little over a decade. Her list of accolades includes landing herself her own weekly radio show on Kiss FM Ukraine, becoming the resident DJ for Kazantip Festival and Moscow Club ARMA17, co-founding Strichka Festival, and starting her own record label, Propaganda Records.

However, becoming one of the world's top 20 DJs hasn't been the smoothest ride. Juggling being a single mother and playing as many as 131 gigs a year isn't the easiest task, but it's clear that being a DJ is an extension of herself. A quick look at her personal Instagram handle ( and one would observe that her love for making music and personal space are intertwined. Case in point? She played a vinyl set at her daughter's school during her 'bring your parents to school day'.

Nastia sums it all up: "I love my hobby, which transformed into my profession and my way of life during recent years. My aim is to see as many people as possible on the dance floor and to dance with them, leading the mood that unites us all – music. I am what I do."

Join Nastia at Super 0 x The Council presents Nastia (Propaganda Records) on 2 December, from 10pm till late at Gillman Barracks Block 7. Check out last week's #WomanCrushWednesday here.
