After playing a teenage vampire for seven seasons on True Blood, Deborah Ann Woll takes on the girl next door with a dark side in the Netflix series, Marvel’s Daredevil. Not familiar with her yet? Here's a catch up as you discover season two
1. She looks to Lauren Bacall for inspiration Looking to one of the 20th century's greatest women in cinema, the Brooklyn native once gushed that "Lauren Bacall is sort of my icon" for her character, Karen Page. "We ended up thinking about her and this idea of natural and feminine, but striking," she shares in an interview with Byrdie.
2. She's a self-professed socially-awkward geek The 31-year-old has claimed that she's pretty good at the fantasy game Dungeons & Dragons. The True Blood alum is the Dungeon Master — a game organiser and person in charge — and has even made a scroll and puzzles for her group. 3. Her role as Karen hits quite close to home Her boyfriend, comedian EJ Scott, is also vision impaired — as is her reel time love interest Matt Murdock. Scott has a rare genetic disease called choroideremia, which is causing him to lose his eyesight. He has a sense of humour about it though, and has shown up to events wearing a Daredevil top underneath. What a sport.
