If photographer Gray Malin isn't on your radar yet, he very well should be. The Los Angeles-based fine art photographer has turned beach umbrellas into rainbow sprinkles and inner tubes into candied goodness with his stunning aerial photography. Now, he's releasing his first book titled Beaches — which, as the name suggests, amasses 125 of Malin's best holiday-themed shots.
Each flip of the page is a chance to enter escapism. If you've never been to the coastal fringes of Kaua'i, Rimini or Cape Town, you can now travel vicariously with a cocktail in one hand. Shot from helicopters, the aerial photographs depict changes in the ocean's currents, the gradient colours of sand and the bronze in bodies — just about everything you love in a tropical vacation.
While some images are iconic to Malin's portfolio, fans will delight at previously unpublished images featuring Rio de Janeiro and the Italian Riviera from his A La Plage collection. We last followed the photographer around Thimphu and Paro in Bhutan for Le Méridien — now, you can marvel at his works in a tactile manner and discover details you've never noticed before. Beach, please.
