Trending now: Two-toned lipsticks and balms
Better than one
Lush, dimensional lips are a trend that is not going away anytime soon and whether you're going for the subtle, 'bitten' look inspired by Korean celebrities, or for two clashing colours on the upper and lower lips there is a style for everyone. Making the trend easier are two-toned products so you don't have to use or buy two, separate lippies to attain it. Here are some of our favourites.
1. Laneige Two Tone Tint Lip Bar in Tomato Sherbert, $32
If you don't want too obvious an effect, this combination of a tint and a sheer, colour balm gives a very natural gradient effect. Plus the moisture wrap technology used ensures plush, hydrated lips.
2. Dior Rouge Gradient Duo Stick in 575 Pink, $50
This innovative new product from Dior is dubbed a lip shadow as it is applies almost like a cream eyeshadow with its sponge applicator. This leaves a weightless, matte finish on your kissers and is perfect for blending and creating multi-dimensional looks. The light shade provides the creamy base while the bolder hue can be saturated in the centre of the lip for that pop effect.
3. Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Ombré Sculpting Lipstick in Rose + Rebel , $48
Designed to shape and sculpt the contours of your lips, this lippie gets an update with a split-bullet design. Use one colour, both hues separately or blend the two for a unique mix — the variations are endless and oh-so-pretty.
4. Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Volupté Tint-in-Balm in 1 Dream Me Nude, $54
This ultra-cute hybrid product has a lip print embossed in the centre of the tube. This moisturising core is designed to give super soft hydration, while the sheer colours and balmy, comforting texture will tint your kissers ever so slightly. Apply more for a deeper, more noticeable tone or go light for a barely-there hint of colour.
