Chocolate, caramel or pumpskin spice anyone? Find out how the latest hair colours are inspired not by fashion, but by mouthwatering desserts and sweet drinks instead
When it comes to hair colour, there's a new source of inspiration that's gaining traction. But this time, it's likely to be found on a dessert plate or at your local Starbucks rather than in a fashion magazine. Dessert-inspired 'dos are blowing up in a big way, with a rose gold-infused brown, dubbed chocolate mauve, created by hair colourist Hannah Edelman (@hannahthepainter) of Brooklyn's Brush in Hand, being the colour du jour. Rich, dimensional and woven full of multiple tones, chocolates and caramels have been traditional go-to shades for hair. But now these tones come with interesting twists, such as tinges of pink and rose gold interwoven with the more basic browns.
Another trend? #pumkinspicehair that's a nod to both the autumnal season and Halloween. But rather than a scary Jack-o'-lantern orange, this auburn hue with multi-dimensional highlights is actually pretty subtle. But if you're looking for pastel or more out there confections as a source of sweet inspiration, you can always try macaron colour — multiple tones in soft pinks, blues and lilacs. Whichever sweet treat is your poison of choice, here are dessert-inspired 'dos that are turning our heads.
