When you think of makeup at Cannes, edgy is not a word that would spring to mind. Yet, some of the beauties at Cannes dared to be different. Aishwarya Rai turned heads with an eye-popping shade of lilac lipstick, proving that the 'world's most beautiful woman' could literally wear any lip colour. We love that she combined it not with a clean eye, but with a sexy, smoky eye for a mysterious touch. Other standouts for us? The soft burgundy lips on French model-actress Gaia Weiss and the sophisticated sparkle of Kirsten Dunst's metallic smoky eyes. Newly-minted face of Chanel makeup, Kristen Stewart did not disappoint with her take on 80's excess. We are in love with her perfect red lip and gorgeously groomed brows that matched her bleached hair (with grown our roots) to a T. And of course, Lily-Rose Depp, genetically blessed offspring of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, proved that the sweet bird of youth is indeed a great thing. With skin as soft and dewy as a newborn's Depp wore gold shadow and thick liner for a modern day Cleopatra look with the kind of French girl cool her mum is known for.
