Lashes always make a statement, whether you choose to go bare — the equivalent of normcore for the face — or aren't afraid to don a pair of eye-catching falsies. And just like red lipstick or a dramatic, smoky eye they can command instant attention. On the spring/summer 2016 runways, lashes were the makeup focus at several shows. At Daks, they were clumpy and spidery; almost like the models had smeared on more mascara over a coat that had already dried. At Sibling, they were super-long and pronounced, paired with a cat-eye flick for maximum effect. Finally, at Thomas Tait, they were downright outrageous. The thick fringe of lashes on both the upper and lower lids, paired with geometric line details were purposely disproportionate, lending the models' faces an almost unsettling, anime like quality.
