Get the look: Kristen Stewart's androgynous new beauty style
Kristen Stewart has broken out of the shadow of Twilight with her role as a Chanel ambassadress and bonafide serious actress — she has a César for Best Supporting Actress and roles in Woody Allen films to prove it. But seriously the woman is drop dead gorgeous and with her newfound beauty and fashion confidence, she is seriously working this look. With her hair slicked back, bold brows on full display and a pout that packs a punch, this is an antidote to the whole no makeup trend currently sported by Alicia Keys, and frankly we love this brazenness. Here's the hair, makeup and skin products you need to get her sexy, androgynous style.
1. Hair gel
While this style looks divine on pure platinum hair, even us lesser mortals with brunette or black tresses, can achieve the effect with a fine tooth comb and lots of hair gel. Here she has a pronounced side part, as well as a mini pompadour in the front, and the look disguises the fact that her locks are in fact, nearly shoulder-grazing. We love a malleable gel that's not too sticky to achieve this wet effect.

2. Red liquid lipstick
As the face of Chanel's Le Rouge makeup collection, it's no wonder that Stewart feels powerful with the bold colour. Get her true red, luminous matte lip with a liquid lipstick, but prep beforehand with a good lip balm, and define lips with a matching pencil liner for a polished effect. We like Chanel's liquid lipstick as its not too matte and doesn't give a dry, cracked look on your kissers.
Try: Chanel Rouge Allure Ink Matte Liquid Lip Colour in Libéré, $49.
3. Brow palette
One of the key components with this look is her brows which are bolder and contrasting with her pale hair — think Madonna circa 1984. To achieve a dimensional look without brows looking too flat and cartoonish, try a brow palette. This one from Make Up For Ever even has wax, three shades of powder to achieve your perfect arches, and a Luminizer — a highlighter shade to emphasise definition under your lower brow line.
Try: Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Brow Palette in Harmony 2, $76.
If like Stewart, you're under the glare of hot lights and trained cameras on the red carpet, you need a foundation that looks flawless under pressure. Look for long-wear formulas and save dewy finishes for another occasion, or you'll look too shiny (or worse yet oily!) in photos. For a smooth and evenly-blended look, opt for the right foundation brush so that your skin looks perfect from all angles.
Try: Urban Decay Flat Optical Blurring Brush, $48 and All Nighter Liquid Foundation, $62.
5. Décolletage cream
Lastly, don't forget your neck and décolleté when you're wearing an evening gown with a plunging neckline or an open jacket like Stewart. A cream with a tiny hint of sparkle — too much will be tacky — or a luxurious body oil will not be remiss in keeping the area looking sleek and sexy. Better yet, use a neck cream on a regular basis to keep the area taut and toned so you can dare to go bare when the occasion calls for it.
Try: Sisley Neck Cream Enriched Formula, $205.
