#BuroLive Episode 33: How to ace festival makeup with Rick Yang
No flower crowns were harmed in the making of this episode. We got one of Buro 24/7 Singapore's favourite makeup artists and frequent collaborators Rick Yang, the co-founder of Fac3Inc to show us easy tips and tricks for aceing the perfect festival face. Watch the video below on how to prep, create and prolong your makeup. Always start with ample sunscreen and when you're creating glow, make sure you avoid areas like the T-zone. Yang shows us the products that are great for real life including Burberry Beauty's Fresh Glow and Effortless Contouring Pen as well as waterproof Make Up For Ever Aqua products including mascara and brow products for stay-put lashes and brows while you dance the night away.
Interestingly, Yang believes that cream textures such a Clé de Peau Beauté's new Cream Blush are great for outdoor environments as they stay put on skin and won't flake, unlike a lot of powder-based makeup. He also stresses the importance of a good setting spray, using a combination of two products from Urban Decay to really set the makeup look. When you're touching up at a festival, don't be afraid to use your fingers — it's not like you can bring your entire set of makeup brushes. And always remember no one expects you to look picture perfect at these events... so don't forget to have fun with your face painting. Check out the products Yang used in the gallery below.
