Watch Natalie Portman create a fragrance at Dior
The epitome of poise, Natalie Portman is perfection as the face of Miss Dior. Here she learns more about how fragrances are developed with perfumer François Demarchy

In case you haven't noticed, Natalie Portman is a bit of a Francophile. The Israeli-American actress may have tackled her most demanding roles — such as her Oscar-winning turn in Black Swan — in English, but she is after all married to French ballet dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, lives in Paris and as a Dior spokesmodel, is the face of a quintessentially French brand.

Portman is also fluent in French as you'll discover in this behind-the-scenes interview with the brand's perfumer-creator François Demachy. Giggle along with her as Portman denies knowing the what marijuana smells like — it's apparently very similar to the perfumery ingredient patchouli, the secret weapon in Miss Dior. And catch a glimpse of the complex and painstaking process that goes behind the creation of a gorgeous scent.
