The Damai Spa introduces ESPA treatments in its new menu
Lie back and relax
The Damai Spa is one of our favourite luxury spas in Singapore, offering a comforting blend of luxurious surroundings and touch-based, Asian-influence therapies that send you into a state of utter bliss. Starting in July, the spa has partnered with renowned spa provider ESPA to introduce a new menu of services. Says the Damai Spa, "ESPA is a pioneer in the science of natural beauty, and its potent collection of effective formulations will now be incorporated into pampering, rejuvenating and restorative treatments at Damai. The spa's dedicated team of house specialists and therapists will indulge guests in a host of renewing top-to-toe treatments, including a selection of two- or three-hour spa journeys, personalised massages, deep-muscle massages with hot stones, stress-relieving body rituals, rehydrating facials and muscle-relieving treatments for men."
The menu of ESPA treatments is extensive and includes body scrubs, facials and de-stressing treatments. We tried the Personalised Massage from the new ESPA menu and were more than satisfied with the impeccable service and pampering protocol. Each personalised massage begins with a detailed therapist consultation to find out which massage is best suited to your needs — aromatherapy, hot stone, deep muscle or Swedish. What is great about this is, there's literally a massage-style for every preference. Whether you're in need of some heavy kneading or simply want a light and relaxing massage that will have you drifting off, simple communication results in a perfectly tailored treatment.
We were recommended the Aromatherapy massage, and another treat was being able to choose from a blend of ESPA oils based on the mood we wanted to achieve. Headed for a dinner that night, we picked the Energising Oil with a blend of eucalyptus, rosemary and sweet almond, to invigorate us. Not a fan of painful massages, we opted for a medium pressure, that was so gentle it sent us in a deep state of calm. The peaceful, quiet surroundings and private room and shower area were also big pluses for us. Each massage also comes with an application of ESPA's Pink Hair and Scalp Mud — a treatment that nourishes dry hair and soothes the scalp — which is a step above the usual oils applied during a scalp massage. Book yourself in at the end of a long day, and leave these products on the skin and hair, allowing the luxurious ingredients to sink in. And if you love the ESPA products you'll be glad to know that the skincare and bodycare products are sold at the Damai Spa. For now till the end of August, if you book a personalised 90-minute massage, you'll also get to take home a complimentary ESPA premium gift set that includes a mini Optimal Skin ProCleanser and Optimal Skin ProMoisturiser.
