Singapore fragrance brand Six makes it debut
Smells like home
Fragrance brands from this sunny isle are rare, with Code Deco one of the few on the scene, so we're glad to see a new player in the field. Six Fine Fragrances is an artisanal brand started by Singaporean Jason Lee, who had previous experience at Givaudan. Says Lee, "An emotional experience is transient, mysterious and powerful. Like immersive spaces, it evokes, excites, and evolves. Our sixth sense tells us things like no one else does. Six reveals, re-enacts, and remakes immersive spaces through scents that capture the essence — in a bottle. It is my interpretation of these experiences and special moments in time."
Working with Givaudan, Lee has created three scents based on his favourite travel destinations. "Combining creativity and passion in olfactive development, a partnership with Givaudan equips us with cutting-edge technologies to ensure supreme quality". And Givaudan is happy in turn to work with Lee on his brand. Its sub-regional director (SEA and Australia), Bernard Chng says, "We are thrilled that Six has launched its very first collection of fine fragrances and we are delighted to have been able to provide our creative expertise in crafting the scents. We wish them every success as they embark on their new and exciting journey". The scents include 123 Tribeca. Made for the sexy urbanite, it has an intoxicating blend of Brazilian rosewood, rose, jasmine and orange peel. Anothe scent 1724 Puka is a sensual, romantic fragrance, inspired by the marzipan-white beach in Boracay. Expect a heady brew of rhubarb, carnation, amber, musk and even celery seeds. The third scent 27ºF, is all about wintry climates, particularly that of Biei in Hokkaido. Evoking the pristine, snow-capped mountains, expect notes of orange blossom, lily of the valley, Bulgarian rose, sandalwood and cedar. In keeping with the travel theme, the fragrance is sold in a portable 20ml twist and spray bottle in a chic, matte black.
Six Fine Fragrances are available in 20ml bottles (S$66) and a collectible gift box of three 3ml mini bottles (S$26 a set) at selected Naiise Concept stores. Or visit them here.
