Natural velvet: Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint
"Makeup should fit who you are". Those wise words come from none other than Francois Nars, the quiet but enigmatic creator of Nars who has been making women's makeup dreams come true for over 20 years. And he's absolutely right. Whether its an on-the-go product or one that suits your skin type, your makeup should be working hard for you, not the other way around.
With the new Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF30/PA+++ you'll get a soft-matte finish, good sun protection and coverage that ranges from sheer to medium depending on how much and how you apply it. While this blurs the skin for that soft-focus effect, it won't have that flat and unnatural look many matte foundations have — so you won't look like you're wearing a mask or chalky layer over your face. The velvety feel comes from spherical blurring powders that compress like a cushion when applied, for a plush effect on skin. Meanwhile rose fruit extract helps control sebum and improve the look of pores. Find out more about the new tint, which comes in nine, skin-perfecting shades, from Francois Nars himself.
Why was it important to you to include this formula within Nars' complexion offering?
After creating a full-coverage foundation with All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, I wanted to reinvent matte in a casual way. I developed this matte tint to look like skin, but with a soft, natural-looking finish.
What makes this product different?
This product negates your previous perceptions of what matte makeup looks and feels like. It is also extremely easy to use, anyone can do it. Once applied you have this refined, yet natural-looking finish that doesn't look cakey or dull.
How would you describe the coverage and finish of this product?
It combines the weightlessness of an all-in-one skin tint with the perfecting shine control of a matte formula. It breathes dimension and life into the skin.
