A (relatively) barefaced Keira Knightley gets instantly transformed under the skilful hands of Chanel's global creative makeup and colour designer Lucia Pica. Just a dab of the brand's Illusion D'Ombre in 83 Illusoire patted on the centre of the lid and blended out into the socket line — with a tiny bit smudged under the eyes — gives a glamorous, yet lived-in look. Add a carefully-applied red lip — use a pencil to draw ever-so-slightly out of your natural lip line and cover the entire lip as a base before topping up with lipstick — and your look is pretty much complete.

A bonus? Witness firsthand how Knightley tames her signature bushy brows and elongates their shape slightly using a brow brush. It's all in the right strokes.

And finally Pica shows us this neat trick to create a glossy finish on the face. Using a brush, she applies Chanel's Sublimage L'Extrait on selected parts of the face like the cheekbones and forehead, before dabbing the edges with a clean brush so they are blended. A good tip from Pica? Apply a dab of powder on areas like the corner of the nose and on the cheeks to tone down the shine, for a gorgeous glow, that's sexy, never sweaty.
