Chanel's new summer makeup collection is almost here
In the eternal summer of Singapore it can be easy to forget that different seasons exist. While we can't change up sartorially — unless you're willing to don trenchcoats and scarves on rainy days — you can celebrate the passing seasons with your hair and makeup. Chanel's new summer collection — Dans La Lumiere De L'Été — celebrates a carefree, sundrenched beauty that will get you in the mood for your next vacay. Think healthily bronzed skin paired with vivid corals and pinks on the cheeks and lips and contrasting, dark nails, for an edge of sophistication. Here are our top three picks from the collection.
First up, the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Breeze, a powder duo that defines and lightly colours the face. For summer there are two limited shades. No 1 consists of a terracotta brown and a golden sand for light touches, while No 2 comprises a deep pink for the cheekbones and a light beige for highlighting. We love how these user-friendly shades take the guesswork out of the process. But remember to use a light touch when applying these, as more colour can always be added later.
Although heavy eye makeup is kind of a no-no during hot, summer months, we can't resist the Empreinte Du Désert eyeshadow palette that has a beautiful, imprinted texture that looks almost like the undulating sand dunes in the desert. The warm hues of copper brown, golden beige and khaki green in this palette are the ultimate in desert chic — we can picture them with a safari jacket.
If there's one product that epitomises the easy, breezy feel of summer it's a lip gloss. The brand's Lèvres Scintillantes now has a more fluid and hydrating formula that feels more comfy when worn, as well as a more precise applicator. For the summer, there are six shades. In the brilliant pinks, garnets and corals you're likely to see in a gorgeous, multi-faceted sunset on an island like Santorini, you can opt for either a glossy or iridescent finish depending on your mood and your outft.
From $39 to $96. Available from 13 May at Chanel counters and stores
