Can this serum actually lift and define the eyes?
Bringing a whole new meaning to the term eyebrow-raising, is La Mer's latest eye product. The Lifting Eye Serum uses red algae technology to strengthen and uplift the eye area. Specifically, the serum's Stretch Matrix Complex supports the architecture of both the eye and the brow areas and gives a heightened look to eye contours. Think of it as a net or mesh that interlaces and lifts up the area around your peepers.
Because it comes with a specially-engineered applicator, there's also a precise way to apply it. First, use the rounded side on clean skin to stimulate microcirculation. Next, dispense a drop on the tip of the ring finger (it has the lightest touch) and press gently into the eye area. Finally, use the flat side of the applicator to sweep over the eye area starting from the inner to outer corner in an outward and upward motion to smooth and lift. Repeat this under the brow.

What are the latest eye treatment trends?
The layering that has been populat in skincare is now coming to the eye area. Serums layered underneath eye creams reap multiple benefits, from hydration to toning, to lifting and firming. Some clients are surprised that you can use this technique around the eye area. Similar to a face regime, layering is a more sophisticated technique that will yield better results faster. La Mer's The Lifting Eye Serum was developed to be specifically layered underneath your existing eye products, for a more sculpted, uplifted look.
Another trend is cyrotherapy , or the use of cold temperature for anti-inflammatory benefits. It has been popular in facials, and is now being used on the eye area. Aestheticians are incorporating ice cubes and massage into their eye treatment application.
What is the best way to apply The Lifting Eye Serum?
Apply The Lifting Eye Serum underneath the eye, from the inner to the outer corner. Then go between the eyelid and the brow. Finish with a touch on the eyelid. The sweeping motion will help the matrix better support the eye and brow like a lifting net. Follow with your eye cream — I love layering it underneath The Eye Concentrate.
Is there a way to add more lift to sagging brows?
Absolutely. When you get to the brow bone, hold your finger with the serum at a 45-degree angle in the direction you want to lift for a few seconds. Use press-release motions as you repeat, making your way underneath the brow to gently plump. At the base of the brow right above the nose, I use my thumb and index finger to lightly grab and press the skin. This will encourage the serum's lifting ingredients to knit together and give a visible lift.
What's the most common mistake people make when treating the eye area?
Most people use too much force and pull the eye area. Friction brings blood to the surface of the skin, and creates increased darkness underneath the eyes. We can do a lot to lift, de-puff, and soothe the eye area, but being gentle is most important above all. Anything that prevents the worsening of dark circles should always be considered.
