ASOS is the latest retailer to introduce a fun and affordable makeup range on its site. Find out the products it has in store for you and just how pocket-friendly they'll be
If you're a fan of fast fashion, then perhaps you might take an interest in fast facepaint. ASOS, the UK e-tailer that is known for offering a wide variety of brands (from Adidas to Self-Portrait) as well as its own ASOS brand clothing and accessories, adds makeup to the mix. As expected, the first thing you'll notice is the affordability. A matte lipstick retails for £8 (S$14.30), while a chubby highlighter, goes for just £9 (S$16.13). The brand also has trendier products that appeal to the younger set. There's a Dual Glitter Pot that has both loose glitter and a wax for longer-lasting and more precise application as well as a contour and eyebrow palette, for the discerning makeup maven. Don't assume that the low prices equals correspondingly questionable quality. All the products are vegan-friendly and early reviews have been promising.
Packaging-wise it's youthful and quirky — everything's wrapped in (you guessed it) millennial pink with cute cartoon symbols for the eyes and lips adding to its charm. While the products don't appear to be groundbreaking in terms of presentation and colour offerings, the price point make them a tempting buy. We can't speak of the formulas and applicators having never tried these babies, but the next time you're ordering something from ASOS, give the products a spin and comment below on the quality and colour payoff.
