Get lucky: Lucky Blue Smith is the new face of L'Oréal Men Expert
Lucky Blue Smith is one aptly named man. The 17-year old, Utah-born model has taken the industry by storm with his winsome combination of wholesome looks and angelic, platinum locks. And from a family of lookers — his three sisters, with whom he has a band, are also models — he has had the most successful career in fashion. Smith also has a whopping 2.1 million Instagram followers (and counting). But we all know that a model hasn't truly made it till they get their first beauty campaign. L'Oréal Men Expert has snapped the all-American model up as their spokesperson. Hear from Smith himself on how it feels to represent the brand and his first experience meeting his fans en masse.
How did you react when L'Oréal Men Expert asked you to become a spokesperson?
I was very excited, honoured and a bit shocked. I am very blessed to become a part of the L'Oréal family.
What are three words to define L'Oréal Men Expert products?
Cool, sensational and refreshing.
What are your favourite Men Expert products?
I love the blue Hydra Power range of products for the skin. These products feel extra fresh and clean. In a few seconds my skin feels totally purified and moisturised. I'm fully revved up to start the day, no matter how long I've worked or how much I have travelled.
Who do you think is the Men Expert man?
Definitely a cool guy who enjoys taking care of himself.
What three grooming products do you pack when you travel?
Face wash, moisturiser and pomade.
What beauty advice would you most like to impart to your best friend?
Keep your skin clean.
What do you do in order to stay in shape?
I spend a lot of time in hotels so I try to utilise the good old hotel gym whenever I can. And I'm always up for a good swim.
It's date night. What are your weapons for charming a girl?
A smile and being yourself.
Why did you decide to go platinum blonde?
Sometimes you just have to switch it up ya' know?
Where and what was your very first fan meetup like?
London at Heathrow. I came walking out of customs to about 60 or 70 girls who had figured out I was coming and showed up to greet me. It was surprising and fun. I love meeting new people.
What is the trick to taking a great selfie? Do you have a selfie stick?
Good lighting... and no just long arms.
What has been your best fashion moment so far?
There have been so many great experiences so far but I really loved Iceland with Annie Leibowitz.
What is the most challenging part of your job?
Jet lag and being away from family and friends.
What is your next challenge?
I am working on new music with my sisters and our band, The Atomics, so I'd say recording and getting ready to play shows. I am really excited for people to hear it.
What's it like being in a band with your three, big sisters?
It's the best. We are really close and good friends. I wouldn't want to be in a band with anyone else.
What words would your sisters use to describe you?
Classic, loving, easy-going and happy-go-lucky.
What can we look forward to from your first film role this summer?
Romance, inner beauty and a couple of kissing scenes.
What three things should we do on a visit to Utah?
Visit the salt flats which are famous for car racing, get up into the mountains like Park City and go to Southern Utah to see the beautiful red rocks and desert.
Tell us something no one knows about you.
I would but then everyone would know so...
