David Beckham is a big name, not just in football, but in his other ventures including his underwear collection with H&M and his Haig Club whisky brand. Now he has another feather in his cab having just announced a collaboration with skincare brand Biotherm Homme, becoming the brand's first global ambassador as part of the collaboration. He will reportedly front the brand's number one moisturiser, Aquapower, in a campaign that will break in June. Past Biotherm ambassadors have included Japanese-Taiwanese actor Takeshi Kaneshiro and Chris Noth.

"I'm excited to be working with Biotherm Homme," says David Beckham. "I've been thinking about developing a skincare range for a long time and it wasn't until I started speaking with Biotherm that it all came together. They are as ambitious as I am, and we look forward to showing everyone the fruits of our labour very soon."

And Biotherm is certainly happy to have landed this very big fish for their campaigns. "The partnership between Biotherm Homme and David Beckham is set to shift the boundaries in the men's skincare category and reinforce our brand's leadership," said David Fridlevski, Biotherm's general manager. "It's the first time a male celebrity of this stature has developed a skincare collection. We're proud to be David Beckham's partner of choice to develop his vision of skincare, and we're delighted to welcome him as a new brand ambassador."

It will be interesting to see what Beckham considers his vision of skincare — daily grooming products are also said to be part of his collection — since he is the quintessential man's man who is not afraid to look good. The range is a joint development between Biotherm Homme and Seven Global, David Beckham and Simon Fuller's joint venture with Global Brands.
