What K-Pop star Dara uses on her face
Moonshot to fame
In person, Sandara Park, better known as Dara, is petite and youthful with a genuine charm and friendly vibe. One third of the 2NE1, one of the most successful K-Pop groups of the last five years, she now favours a more natural makeup look — she had dark hair and little makeup when we met her. Here for an ambassador for YG Entertainment's Moonshot cosmetics — G Dragon is also a spokesman— she revealed some of her makeup secrets and the products she favours.
What are your three favourite Moonshot products?
My favourites are, the new Moonflash Cushion, which is also called the Sandara cushion. It's really easy to use and it makes your skin look fresh. I also use the Cream Paint in 807 Peach Scone, which is a very light colour. You can use it as a lipgloss and on your cheeks too. The last is the Jelly Pot for my eyes. The texture of the products make them very easy to use, and even if you have used it for some time, it still looks fresh.
What are some tricks you learned from makeup artists?
I have small lips so I prefer nude colours on my lips. And my makeup artist told me if I put a bit of pearlised lipgloss on the centre of my lower lip, it would look bigger. So I could also have sexy lips!
What are some of your favourite makeup looks?
Lately I'm into natural makeup. I also like strong makeup, with dark eyeliner. I did it for a magazine shoot once and I saw a different side of me, so that was nice. I love trying different kinds of makeup. When I want to look sexy, I use red lips. It's one of my favourites too.
What do you think is the next big K beauty trend?
I think it will be a very, very natural look, almost like you're barefaced. That's the trend.
What would be your dream product be?
A magical cream that is a sunblock, moisturising cream and everything in one. That would be my dream makeup product.
