Peter Philips creates a strikingly modern look that focussed on smoky, chocolate eyes and an illuminated complexion, for the brand's cruise presentation at Blenheim Palace
Want to try out a strong, bold and modern makeup look? Peter Philips created just that for Dior's cruise show — the look was not stereotypically pretty, but the beauty equivalent of a manrepeller look. While the look focussed mainly on the eyes, the luminous complexion was another highlight. The hair — done by Guido Palau — was slicked back at the crown with the ends left natural, adding to the slightly androgynous appeal of the makeup. Hear about the details on the look from Philips himself.
EYES "I used the deep bronze shade from the 5 Couleurs palette in Parisian Sky, which I applied as a colour-block in a single sweep over the entire eyelid, from the lash root to the eyebrows. This extreme look was chosen to contrast with the baroque beauty of the décor."
COMPLEXION "After evening out the complexion with Diorskin Forever Fluid Foundation, I created shape by gently contouring with the DiorBlush Light & Contour jumbo stick. Applied to the hollows of the cheeks as well as the parts of the face that catch the light, its two shades enabled us to emphasise the architecture of the face in a nuanced and transparent way. As a finishing touch, I applied just a hint of iridescent Diorskin Nude Air Luminizer. This makeup, blended gradually in a 'pointillist' style, provided a natural and luminous result."
LIPS & NAILS The rest of the makeup was minimalist. Lips were kept natural. Philips used a light peach shade of Dior Addict Gloss in Gorgeous, while nails were painted in Dior Vernis in Muguet — a pale, almost transparent nude.
