Clé de Peau Beauté #JourneyToRadiance: Victoria Cheng
Victoria Cheng is a woman who wears many different hats. You may know her an influencer and media personality, but Cheng also works as a content producer and as a marketing and digital strategist. Despite her packed schedule and commuting between Hong Kong and Singapore, Cheng says, "I start every morning at 8am, and make it a priority to squeeze in some kind of physical activity. It helps for stress relief and keeps my mind clear when I'm juggling multiple projects." As someone who works in front of the camera as much as behind it, Cheng's appearance, and particularly her clear skin, is also something she can't take for granted. "With so many different brands in the market, I don't want to take the risk of experimenting too much and potentially getting a bad allergic reaction... especially when shoots or meetings crop up so often at the last minute!" As someone who is picky about her skincare, Cheng's #JourneyToRadiance with Clé de Peau Beauté was all about maximising her skin's potential.
A typical working day for Cheng could include meetings with clients and photo or video shoots. Even her evenings are packed attending events or catching up with writing and work emails. When it comes to skincare, Cheng is both a minimalist and a loyalist. "For skincare, once I've found something that works for me, I am reluctant to change it up. I've been fortunate to inherit my dad's clear skin. But I can be sensitive to the sun if I'm not careful — sometimes I get rashes."
After trying out Clé de Peau Beauté's Basic skincare range for a month, Cheng was impressed with the results. "My skin is dewy, fresher and brighter, my complexion is more even and my pores are more refined. I find that I didn't need to wear makeup on some days. And when I did wear makeup, I noticed how much easier application was and how easily the products just glided on my skin. One person actually commented about me having a 'glow'. I'm not sure if it's related to the skincare or some other factor, but it was good to know!"
She was also impressed with the textures and the simplicity of the routine. "The products are simple, after cleansing, it's just two steps. The Intensive Fortifying Emulsion, which I used at night, felt like silk on my skin. It's a routine I can definitely see myself continuing, as it always leaves my skin dewy and bouncy, and in the evening, I really like to take my time luxuriating in the skincare process along with a layer of the ultimate indulgence, La Crème."
A frequent flyer, Cheng found that her basic routine could be adapted for the different climates that she travelled to. "I use the Hydro-Clarifying Lotion daily, and the Intensive Fortifying Emulsion as well. If it's very sunny out, I'll dab on a little bit of the Protective Fortifying Emulsion. For La Crème I used it three to four times a week, just at night. I took the products with me to Sydney where the weather is slightly drier, and the products worked spectacularly there — my skin was amazing after using Clé de Peau Beauté."
And in her #JourneyToRadiance, Cheng was happy that Clé de Peau Beauté skincare addressed her skin woes. "As someone who is quite risk averse with trying out too many different skincare products I'm really happy with Clé de Peau Beauté. After a few weeks of usage and seeing my skin age backwards like Benjamin Button, I've completely changed my skincare routine to make these one of the key products in my daily routine. Best of all, it's a realistic and practical routine I can continue with."
Cheng noticed visible changes in her complexion. "After a few weeks of use, I've noticed an immense change in my skin. It's like the fountain of youth; my skin is softer after a week and my pores that were starting to look more obvious in recent years are 'disappearing' again after three weeks. At week six, I was in Nagano, Japan using these products. I'm thrilled to be able to spoil my skin with an extra layer of these luxurious, silky creams to nourish and protect it against the cold, dry weather. I've begun to take a few more minutes each day to set aside for the process, it's become a nice pampering treat to start and end the day with."
When choosing skincare, I look for... quality and simplicity.
I feel most confident when... I wake up and not only see, but feel the difference in my body after I've been taking good care of it. I like eating healthy, staying active, getting lots of rest and doing anything that keeps my brain challenged.
The craziest thing I did for beauty is... wake up at 5am just to get a run in, so I could look fresh and perky for a 7am shoot.
To me radiance is about... an attitude — to persevere through life with an optimistic outlook.
My skin wish is... to never need concealer or powder for the rest of my life.
One thing that always works when I want to look radiant is... a good night's rest and breaking a sweat after working out to get that energetic glow.
The skin secret I always share with other people is... Sleep, hydrate and moisturise.
If I could go back in time, I would... have started drinking lots and lots of water daily at an earlier age. It really makes a difference.
