Celebrities reveal their favourite eye creams and serums
All eyes on me
There a comes a point in time when a woman starts having a complicated relationship with her skincare. Eye creams and serums get a pretty bad rep and many women expect great results and get disappointed when these don't deliver the kind of obvious, eye-catching improvements they were hoping for. The trick is probably in starting early, with preventive ageing products. Giving a product time to do its work, as well as practicing a holistic approach that involves lots of hydration, rest and exercise is also more realistic. And hey, if your eyes look tired, there's always concealer. We looked at some of our favourite celebrities who seem to have aced ageing gracefully to see what products they're using. While the may be ahem... getting extra help, here are the eye products they swear by.
While it's not unusual to see a celebrity plug a skincare product, Paltrow's lifestyle brand goop co-created this with renowned organic skincare specialist Juice Beauty. Paltrow has been known to add in the goop by Juice Beauty Perfecting Eye Cream into her routine. This reduces fine lines and wrinkles and boosts elasticity and plumpness. Star ingredients include olive butter and sandalwood nut oil.
Jennifer Lopez has an enviably glow-y complexion, but at the age of 47, it's inevitable that some fine lines and crow's feet will start to show. While she has stayed pretty mum on what exactly she uses now, she has in the past named the StriVectin Eye Concentrate for Wrinkles. The lightweight concentrate targets both deep-set wrinkles and dark eye circles, so, like the actress-singer-dancer, it's a pretty hardworking product.
Love her or hate her Kim Kardashian is known for her expressive, long-lashed peepers. One product she purportedly uses? Kiehl's Multi-Corrective Eye-Opening Serum which she revealed on Snapchat was soon-to-be part of her morning routine. Free of parabens, mineral oils and colourants this is a gentle yet effective product suitable for sensitive skin and first-time users.
Actress and comedienne Munn is often highlighted for her fresh and freckled complexion, but as a spokesperson for Proactiv, she does take care of her skin. One of the products she uses is the Proactiv+ Eye Brightening Serum, which she says she "pats on to wake up [her] whole face." Infused with vitamin C, E and peptides, this product was designed to be used on acne-prone skin, making it a good option for women with problem complexions.
The ever-youthful Hudson is a big fan of organic skincare brand Juice Beauty, revealing on her Instagram that she uses its eye products to get ready for red carpet events. Part of her eye routine involves using the brand's Instant Eye Lift, a two-step mask, followed by the Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair Eye Treatment. This certified organic, best-seller gets rid of dark circles and fine lines using a proprietary blend of fruit stem cells.
