#WomanCrushWednesday: Zöe Kravitz
They say good genes get you far in life, and Zöe Kravitz is perhaps one of the best examples of that. Kravitz may have inherited beautiful features and stunning bone structure from her famous parents, but good genes (and connections) can only get you so far. The actress has been hustling hard to get small roles in good movies (Mad Max:Fury Road), roles in coveted franchises (X-Men and the Divergent series) and bigger roles in more interesting fare (Dope). Like her father, she also sings, in her R&B/electropop trio Lolawolf. Is there nothing this girl can't do?
But yes, because we are superficial creatures at times, we can't help but admire her fresh, freckled complexion and show-stopping braids. With her septum piercing and cool girl vibe, Kravitz is a beauty icon for the indie set. Although her signature look is glowing, bronzed skin and nude hues on the eyes and lips, sometimes she gets a bit experimental. Here are three recent looks that caught our eye.
Kravitz has the perfect eye shape to go crazy with the eyeshadow. Here her look is dramatic but not overdone, with matte, chocolate brown shadow creating a cool, winged effect on her eyelids. Finished off with lashings of mascara, gleaming skin and liquid lip gloss, Kravitz looks modern, but not like she's trying too hard.
Silver linings playbook
She has a knack for looks that are fresh and is one of the lucky few who wears makeup, but never lets the makeup 'wear her'. Silver-grey liner smudged all along the lashline and sheer, nude lipstick is nighttime appropriate without being heavy.
One in a vermillion
Because she usually concentrates on the eyes, Kravitz seldom wears a bold lip. But when she does, it's high-impact. Here a brilliant, orange-red matte lipstick is the only embellishment on her face, along with another beauty signature — two dots of black liner under her eyes.
