#WomanCrushWednesday: Jess Glynne
Jess Glynne may not be a household name yet. But the 26-year old English singer, who has collaborated with rapper Tinie Tempah and electronic group Clean Bandit, is making waves in her native England where she boasts five No. 1 singles. But what has impressed us most about Glynne is her mane. Thick, red spiral curls may not seem like the most versatile hair to have, but Glynne, who formerly worked in a hairdresser's, styles it for all its worth. From a stunning afro (see above at the Brit Awards 2016) to intricate braids, there's nothing Glynne won't try.
She has also won over our beauty-loving hearts by developing her own beauty signatures: fabulous use of eyeliner, the no-lipstick lipstick look and a perfect manicure — she goes to the same manicurist as fellow Brit Jessie J. But today, we're here to talk about her hair, and here are our favourite looks:
BRAIDED SWIRLS AND KISS CURLS
Here, she is mixing two styles, to great effect. While most of her hair is tightly braided and coiled against her head, the front pieces are fashioned into pretty kiss curls and plastered on her forehead.
THE PERFECT CURLS
Curly-haired lasses will know the woes of trying to have locks that are perfectly formed, lustrous and not too crunchy. Glynne seems to have achieved it all (including volume) with this envy-worthy 'do. She told Into The Gloss, that she uses a combination of Bumble and bumble products, and they seem to be doing the trick.
Many of Glynne's hairdos are especially practical for the stage. Worn off her face, they keep her mane tamed, while still looking urban. These twin braids start tightly at the crown from a neat centre part, and finish in adorable pigtail-like ends, that only begin at the nape of her neck.
LONG AND LOOSE
While not for everyone, this almost Bag Lady style hair is very fashion, which is appropriate as Glynne wore it to a Stella McCartney FW16 show. By brushing out her spirals into looser waves — and adding extensions into the ends — Glynne creates a runway-worthy red 'do that once again gives her a different, more avant-garde look. And if she's officially being adopted into the Stella family of style — she sat in the front row — we know she's on to better things.
