Why La Mer's newest moisturiser may be its best yet
All the small things
La Mer is the indisputed king (or queen) of moisturisers, and rightfully so. It has parlayed the success of its original Crème de La Mer, a thick almost balm-like hydrator with amazing healing properties, to a whole range of moisturisers. From the Moisturizing Gel Cream (our previous favourite) to the most recent Moisturizing Soft Cream, there's a comfortable and suitable texture for any climate and skin type. The new kid on the block, The Moisturizing Soft Lotion, builds on the richer texture of the Soft Cream, but presents it in a light and convenient lotion formula. Here's why we think this new lotion is the bomb:
Replacing the existing The Moisturizing Lotion, this new Lotion comes in a tube form with a pump dispenser. What this means is a more hygenic, fuss-free way of dispensing your daily hydrator, with less mess and less clean up. But while the previous Lotion was housed in a plastic bottle, this time no expense was spared to give the Soft Lotion, the same luxurious feel as the other moisturisers in the range. Made from weighty, white porcelain, this tube feels every bit as luxe as the classic Crème.
Sometimes trying is believing. And you'll have to try the new lotion to experience how it, rather amazingly, has the healing and transformative benefits of the original Crème, in a weightless yet comforting texture. Not only does this deeply nourishing soft lotion sink into skin like magic, it leaves a refined, velvety finish and has an immediate effect on the visibility of lines. If only we could cover our hands and bodies in this precious stuff as well.
Inspired by nano-technology, the scientists at La Mer have crafted 'soft lotion capsules' that drive key ingredients like the healing miracle broth, and lime tea extract deep into the skin. The Moisturizing Soft Cream's proprietary moisture spheres have literally been re-invented. They are so tiny, they flow like water. Each is also encased in a deeply hydrating gel that floods the skin with an ultra-healing boost of moisture and plumps it up from within. Over time, not only will skin be deeply hydrated, redness and irritation will be reduced and lines and wrinkles will be softened. While we were lucky enough to get our hands on a coveted bottle, unfortunately you'll have to wait till August to try this.
