Try these three products for clearer skin in an instant
Fresh-faced and fabulous
When it comes to good skin there are two schools of thought. The first is to fake it till you make it. The other is that good skin is the very foundation of any beauty look and ought to be something you invest time, care and money in. IDS — a homegrown skincare brand started by renowned skin doctor Dr SK Tan to complement the treatments at his IDS Clinic — believes in both. While the clinic offers an extensive range of dermatological services including their new Laser Lift, they also have at-home products that are designed to improve the skin at home (and for those with a slightly more modest budget).
First up is the new IDS DermProbiotic. Sold in a bottle of 60 capsules, each pill contains a live strain of bacteria. Designed to be used with the brand's existing Probiotic Mask, empty a capsule or two into a small amount of the mask and blend. Apply the mixture on areas of the skin that are affected by acne — you can spot apply — and see instant results. It calms the skin, reduces inflammation and helps destroy harmful bacteria that may be sitting on your skin and causing these flare-ups.
If you'd like an even quicker fix, the IDS' first cosmetic product, the Diamond Dust Perfector is just the thing. This complexion booster is a step-up from the usual BB and CC creams on the market. Think of it as your ultimate DD skin boost. The creamy formula may feel slightly thick at first, but spread out this skin-toned complexion enhancer and you'll see it gives skin a smooth, camera-ready finish. Besides containing actual diamond dust particles — hence the dazzling radiance on skin — the formula also contains niacinamide, adenosine and a botanical and floral extract blend to improve the skin's texture in the long-term.
The paraben-free formula only comes in one shade for now, but even if it's not a perfect match for you, you can use it under your regular liquid foundation for a dose of radiance, or mix it in with your moisturiser if you have drier skin. Just remember to pat, not rub, the perfector, for the flawless coverage you're after.
