We try the Evian blowout and are blown away
Mineral water magic
Kim Basinger reportedly made that infamous declaration that she only washed her hair with Evian. If true (though she has since denied it) Alec Baldwin's ex had a point. It turns out a pure water like Evian is just the thing to rinse out your tresses with if you want to eliminate any shine-killing minerals.
Having piqued our interest, Buro 24/7 Singapore headed down to try it for ourselves. After a thorough wash and an application of a Redken Diamond Oil Deep Facets Hair Mask, our hair was rinsed out with an extra large bottle of Evian. The bottled, mineral water felt cool and ultra-refreshing and seemed to get rid of some of the heaviness on our scalp.
Not only did it leave us feeling light-headed (in a good way), our locks seemed to be easier to coax in place and style and despite our recent colour job, our hair looked shiny and sleek without any product.
We love the blowouts at Prep because of the fashion-forward interpretations and comfy, homely atmosphere. This blowout comes with a complimentary Evian water so you can also hydrate yourself from the inside out. There's even a chilled Evian mist you can spray on your face to wake up your skin. If you're so inclined the salon also sells A Juicery cold-pressed juices — useful if you've skipped a meal to do your hair.
Also worth a mention: the braiding skills of head stylist Maurice Chee. Chee who is an expert at intricate updos, works quickly and with a flourish to transform your tresses into the kind of chic-but-modern look that's straight out of your favourite influencer's Instagram page.
The Evian Blowout is $60. Prep is at #03-34 Mandarin Gallery. Book an appointment at www.prepyourhair.com
