Perfect arches: The best grooming services and products for your brows
1. 3D Brow Styling at Shu Uemura
Shu Uemura was the first makeup brand to offer brow grooming for its customers 18 years ago and is known for its precision, brow-grooming tools, and iconic hard pencil. I tried the new service at their Ion Orchard counter. Besides trimming and plucking my brows to get them in shape, the brand's accredited makeup artist also executed the new 3D eyebrow styling service for me. First, she asked me to select the look I was hoping to achieve — be it natural, sweet, sharp or glamorous. I opted for natural. This three-step service started with her recreating a shadow on my skin's surface with brow:ink. Following that, she used a hard formula pencil to define my brow shape before finishing with the eyebrow manicure in palm beige to coat my individual brow strands with brown mascara so they better matched my light brown hair. I was really pleased with the results — bold brows that still had that promised 3D effect.

2. Brow Wax at Benefit Brow Bar
Born with relatively thick brows, I've always been on a hunt for a good brow service in Singapore. Jerlyn, Benefit's national brow artist came highly recommended by a friend (and makeup artist) and I knew I had to try it. Jerlyn was professional and lived up to my expectations. She started out using Benefit's secret weapon — the brow shaping tool — to ensure that the most natural shape was achieved. Once the shape was set, she began the waxing process — a first for me. From years of tweezing and threading, I was pleasantly surprised that waxing was a lot cleaner, gentler on the skin and not at all painful (well, at least for me). A little tweezing had to be done to remove any stray hairs. The last step involved basic shading to complete the brows In 15 minutes, the session was done and I had the perfectly-shaped eyebrows I had always longed for.

3. Colour Tweak at Browhaus
Though the popular eyebrow grooming chain may be best known for their Brow Resurrection service, if you're keen on a less permanent solution, we would recommend the Colour Tweak. Based on your preference, the therapist will either darken or lighten your brow colour to enhance your complexion and better match your hair colour. The process is quick, painless and fuss-free. I was in and out in 15 minutes and as I wanted even lighter brows after the first round, my therapist simply re-applied the lightener to achieve the exact tone I was after. I'm happy with the results as I don't require brow mascara to colour match them to my honey brown hair. The service is usually accompanied by threading or tweezing to get the brows in perfect shape.
