Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion Brightening, $80 (including one refill)
Why we love it: There were some great foundations this year, but none were as easy to use and carry around as this liquid foundation in a compact. With a brightening formula that works well on oilier or combination skin, this was the perfect choice for the girl on the go in Singapore's humidity. Our wish? That the brand introduces this in even more shades, so all women of all skin tones can enjoy this.
BEST NEW MASCARA
Nars Audacious Mascara, $44
Why we love it: To quote Buro 24/7's hair and makeup columnist Emma Haddock, "This mascara does it all for me." The well-designed brush has over 200 moulded bristles that help lift, lengthen, curl, comb, and amplify each lash. It gives a great natural-lash effect — we don't favour that clumpy look — and has good staying power.
BEST NEW LIPSTICK
Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Définition, $44
Why we love it: With so many new lippies on the market, this one stood out for the rich, saturated colour, moist texture and wearable matte-cream finish that didn't have that overly-dry look many matte lipsticks have. Bonus? The stunning shades that fade into a cool lip stain over the course of the day, and the chic, magnetic packaging.
BEST NEW SKINCARE INNOVATION
Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate, $80
Why we love it: Yes there are so many oils on the market at the moment. But this is the first oil designed specially for use in the day. With the same skin-reviving benefits as the good stuff you slather on before bedtime, the difference is the lightweight texture that doesn't leave your skin greasy mid-day.
BEST NEW HAIR BRAND
Why we love it: When a plethora of Kevin Murphy products landed on our desk, we handed them out to the rest of the Buro team to try. From the Hair Resort Spray that gave the enviable, beachy texture without the crunch, to gentle, yet effective shampoos for fine, colour-treated hair, there is a product for literally every hair type and situation.
BEST EYESHADOW PALETTE
Urban Decay|Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette, $85
Why we love it: Design means function in this beautiful palette created with our makeup hero Gwen Stefani. From the monochromatic outer packaging to the fact that there are basically 11 variations of beige or brown to choose from (plus two pops of colour, gold and a must-have black shade), this send our neutrals-loving heart aflutter.

Why we love it: With a silky texure that just glides on and blends like a dream, these blush duos are perfect for sculpting, shaping or giving cheeks a sunkissed glow. Use just one shade, both hues in different spots of the face, or combine the two complementary colours for a pretty flush straight out of Downton Abbey.

Why we love it: With a unique texture that cocoons the skin in comfort, this skin-booster can be added to your routine when you need something extra — it improves microcirculation, skin density and smoothness. Just one drop of the good stuff is all you need to look instantly refreshed.
BEST NEW FRAGRANCE BRAND
Why we love it: Although not new to the market, this Swedish-French brand finally reached our shores in 2015 courtesy of Escentials. With the clean, minimalist design and distinctive domed caps, we already wanted a bottle for our vanities. But it was the intriguing scents with unusual inspirations — from the overripe fruits of Pulp to the spices and woods of Black Saffron — that have got us hooked.

Allies of Skin 1A All-Day Mask, $99
Why we love it: With a lightweight texture, this all-day mask is a protective shield, primer and hydrator in one that slips easily into our daily routine. We anticipate great things from this Singapore brand, and know we'll be stocking up on this antioxidant-filled treat come haze season next year.
